Certified sewage disposal site evaluator files, 1983-[ongoing].

The division operates in cooperation with county health departments to review and approve plans for onsite sewage disposal systems. Part of the reviewing process includes field investigations and evaluation of soil conditions for projects for which ground absorption is proposed as the means of sewage disposal. Since soil testing has been shown to be more reliable and less expensive than the traditional percolation test, the division developed and implemented a pilot program in 1987 to provide site evaluation training to county health personnel. Under this program, local public health environmentalists are trained and tested as certified site evaluators for residential or commercial onsite sewage disposal systems. This series consists of written and site test results, copies of certificate, and correspondence.
